	Qualified first-time home buyers purchasing a principal residence in the United States on or before December 1, 2009 may qualify for a tax credit of 10% up to $8,000. Unlike the tax credit enacted in 2008, the new credit does not have to be repaid. The credit will begin to phase out if single taxpayer's income exceeds $75,000 per year or the couple's income exceeds $150,000.
